Façade

Põhjala tehas, 2023

“Façade” - a French term that defines the essence of a structure: its exterior and, more importantly, its first impression. Focusing beyond the foreground, we can see another layer of definition. Initial thoughts about the subject may be superficial and not aligned with the true nature of the structure.

This exhibit combines the binary nature of the word "facade" and creates a visual resume of residential buildings that have decades of experience. The battered shell of the structure tells tales of time.
